Major Turning Points in the History of Affirmative Action
This paper shall illustrate several important pieces of legislation concerning affirmative action and how those decision have affected the nature of race relations in the United States. Additionally, the origins of affirmative action will be considered, tracing its roots back as far as the Civil War. The complexity of the question will be discussed, as well as the ultimate need for legislative measures in the spirit of affirmative action.
