This five page undergraduate essay provides a 1788 perspective for ratifying the Constitution. The author argues that governments are a reflection of human nature, and as such, provisions must be made to prevent the negative elements of human nature from leading to government abuses. The Framers have drafted the most explicitly self-limiting written constitution in all of human history, and we would be wise to accept and support it, not only in our interests, but in the interests of future generations of Americans.
