The Texas Constitution is a lengthy document, some 90,000 words and approximately 400 amendments, and it continues to grow, as more amendments are made to it. To some, the Constitution is too democratic, and in fact antiquated. When it was first written, in 1875, Texans acquired perhaps the most strictly controlled governmental structure in the United States, which it retains to this day. (Murchison) But should it be revised? And if so, how?
