Government Censorship of the Internet: A Violation of Constitutional Freedoms
This paper examines the issue of government censorship of the Internet. To begin, the paper examines some of the Supreme Court decisions that provide the government with the regulatory authority to restrict the free flow of information through the Internet. The example of the issue in public libraries is used to illustrate that responsibility should fall to parents, not the government, and any public permission to censor information will undermine the Constitutional freedoms afforded the public by the Bill of Rights.
