Education in America: Barriers, Opportunities, Benefits, Worth .
This undergraduate level paper is an examination of the current trends in education that are presenting barriers, opportunities, benefits and overall changes in the worth of education. It looks specifically at merit based pay, standardized testing, and school safety as three of the primary forces shaping American education today. It concludes that the trends in each are leading to a stifled education system that is responsive to the 'bottom line' rather than to the individual student's needs. 6 pgs.
