This essay is aimed at discussing the evolution of French absolutism emphasizing the political structure. In particular it covers such issues as the foundation of the royal absolutism in the 17th century, the architects of this political structure, their goals, their approach towards political decision making and their foreign policies. At the end a brief summarization of the paper is given.
