This paper shall discuss the question of wilderness as it concerns Yellowstone National Park. Specifically, the paper will consider the reintroduction of gray wolves into the local ecosystem after being extinct in that region for sixty years. The paper will examine the role that government and public opinion play in the matter, as well as the concerns and critiques of local residents such as cattle and sheep farmers. The paper will generate some conclusions about the logistical difficulties inherent in managing wildlife areas.
