Biographical Analysis: Understanding the Influence of Italian Poet Lorenzo de Ponte on European and American Opera
In this paper, we can understand the aspects of Italian opera through the lens of classical thought in the eighteenth century. By actively analyzing the aspects of Lorenzo Da Ponte's librettos for Mozart in Europe, we can realize the power of Italian classical thought when Da Ponte traveled to America in hopes of creating a movement with the creation of the Italian Opera House.
