This paper will seek to analyze the concept of the Celtic Banshee, a creature of ancient Irish folklore, who brings death to all she meets. By understanding her origins, and her place in Celtic society, we can see how the Banshee takes on different meanings in Christian and pagan depictions of the creature. Through these means, we can untangle the mystery of this elusive spirit from the world of the Celtic dead.
