Deafness - A Life Without Sound

This essay touches briefly on the history of deafness, explains some rather unusual techniques used in history to 'cure' deafness, and then goes on to explain a few of the new procedures available today, in particular Total Communication which is a communication method that any deaf person can use, either with or without implants.
