This paper explores a personal philsophy of nursing that is based on an incorporation of critical thinking into the praxis of nursing. This description of a personl nursing philosophy also includes a definition of the characteristics of a profession (as opposed to an occupation) and argues that nursing must be considered to qualify as a profession even as nurses continue struggle to receive respect for their jobs.
