Hospers Unchanging Character, Taylors Theory of Agency, and Moral Responsibility
This essay examines the subtle and complex interplay that exists between determinism and individual human agency in contemporary philosophical studies. Discussing Hospars' notions on character and Taylor's theory of agency, the essay analyzes both arguments and suggests a possible synthesis of the two. Through that synthesis it becomes possible to understand human agency as a resistance against the character that the world has imbued the individual with.
