This paper considers the relationship between Christian martyrdom and the Christian mission, giving attention to martyrdom as a process that has been refined over the two centuries since the death of Christ and continues to be an important part of Catholic doctrine to this day, as well as a strong support for the mission of spreading the gospel far and wide and demonstrating the power of the Church in different regions.
