How The Failed Revolutions Of The Late 19th Century Affect Karl Marx's Theories On Socialism.
This paper will take detailed look at the failed revolutions of the late 19th century and reflect on how they affected Marx's theories on socialism. Special attention will be given to changes in his economic thought. In order to do justice to this topic, it is necessary to provide a brief background on socialism, marking its evolution through the centuries. Further, it is necessary to outline Marx's initial thoughts on socialism and socialist economics if any comparison is to be understood. Furthermore, a look at the social conditions that were prevalent in Europe in the late 19th century and also in the United States during the time of the Civil War must be given. After consolidating these various perspectives, the paper will conclude with the observation that the failed revolutions of the 19th century refined Marx's theories on socialism. 20 pgs. 24 f/c. 9b.
