This paper discusses contrasting theories of international relations and how the traditional theories of neoliberalism and neorealism on one side and critical theories in the other compare, with critical theory offering testability of hypotheses by means of empirical data so the theories can be seen either to predict changes on the international scene or to fail to do so.
