This paper answers a series of questions on Behavior Modification as it relates to punishment, on the basis of an article by Ron Van Houten (1983), noting the elements of punishment, different types of punishment, different consequence for punishment, advantages and disadvantages, and other characteristics that need to be considered and accounted for in administering punishment.
