This paper discusses the idea that welfare reform made it possible for people to get off welfare just by getting a full-time job and that this idea is false, as shown by research and by the experiment conducted by Barbara Ehrenreich when she took low-paying jobs in different parts of the country and found that such jobs do not pay enough to live on.
