Gambling and Sports.

This paper is on the topic of gambling and sports. Gambling soon becomes an addiction for many that partake in it. What starts off as the "friendly wager" can soon escalate into a habit? And much like any habit, such as drugs and alcohol, the gambler builds up a tolerance and soon needs to do it more and more. Before long, the gambler cannot enjoy a sporting event if he does not have some money riding in the balance. When this happens in sports, the whole spirit of the game is lost. Green bay Packer coach Vince Lombardi once said, "Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing", but to the gambler winning isn't nearly as important as covering the point spread. Anyone who has ever witnessed it can tell you that there is something inherently wrong with someone cheering after their team loses a game at the buzzer¡even if they only lost by one point.
