This paper discusses the role of women in sports. Will the best women athletes ever in fact compete the best men, with or without size adjustments? The answer is yes. So far, women athletes have notched impressive triumphs over the top men in sports such as shooting, dog sledding, equestrian, and drag racing. And in one self-propelled sport, ocean swimming, the females emerged exceptional to men. The oldest of the female individual records, Jarmila Kratochvilová's 800-meter win at the 1983 World Championships, remains matchless and maybe unsurpassable. Kratochvilová, dubbed the "Wonder Woman" of Czechoslovakia, was never caught in the use of drug tests in her day. The steroid tests that followed Canadian sprinter Ben Johnson's infamous disqualification at the 1988 Olympics was a shameful act for the entire athletic body.
