Book Review of The Jew Within by Steven M. Cohen and Arnold M. Eisen
In this paper, we will review the book The Jew within by Steven M. Cohen and Arnold M. Eisen. In The Jew Within, Steven M. Cohen and Arnold M. Eisen paint a picture of the contemporary American Jew as a cultural group that has loosened its connections to organized public religion. We also see how the Jew has turned inward, searching for a Judaism that is rooted in profound individualism and ambivalent toward the many ethnic institutions that defined an earlier generation.
