This paper is a brief look at how travel - and the act of being a tourist - is more complicated than many people may think. For starters, travel is a transformative process in which a person's metaphysical component is changed by their physical travel to another geographical locale. In other words, by being a tourist, we become more attuned to the common elements that bind us to the rest of humanity.
