This paper describes the state of serfdom in Russia and compares/contrasts it with the institution of slavery. Slavery is defined as world wide slavery, not simply slaves as they may or may not have been held in Russia. The comparison includes dictionary definitions and real life examples of the differences in the two statuses and means of life for serfs and slaves.
