This is a brief three page paper which, as its title suggests, provides a description of how to play chess. To that end, the paper briefly mentions some of the history of the game before describing the setup and game play. The point of the game is illustrated as well as the moves of each individual piece so that the unknowing would be able to play a game following these instructions.
